We are very excited to announce the inaugural semester of the SWS Fund! We will have the unique opportunity of managing capital for our new fund starting this spring. We are so thankful for the opportunity to learn real-life investing skills in a collaborative environment. The Analysts conduct in-depth research and analysis on their industry, analyze companies, study financials, apply basic valuation methods and, ultimately, present a stock recommendation to the SWS Investment Board. 1
Portfolio Managers (PM)
Portfolio Managers will represent one of the nine sectors listed above and work directly with the assigned analyst(s). They will assist the other analyst(s) with around one pitch per semester. They will have required weekly meetings with their analyst(s) to go over market trends and the stocks that the analyst(s) have been following. PMs are responsible for assisting analyst(s) with technical and valuation understanding. PMs are also responsible for vetting the pitches before presenting them to the investment board. PMs give feedback on pitches to the investment board and advice to analyst(s) for future improvement.
2
Analysts
Analysts will represent one of the nine sectors listed above and work directly with their PM and peer analyst, if applicable, on one pitch per semester. Analysts will complete an ATW (Around the World) of their sector each week, highlighting well-performing stocks, and any relevant news. Analysts will work to find value-providing equities to increase the portfolio’s return and pitch them to the investment board.
3
Junior Analysts
Around one junior analyst per sector. Junior Analysts will work directly with their analyst(s) and PM’s. Junior Analysts do not complete pitches to the investment board or complete weekly assignments. However, they will provide insight into the sector through market updates.
